The reporter is stating that it looks like police officers were already planning on dealing with the backlash that came with the verdict in the Rodney King trial. One shocking line he said was, “things like this happen” as if people’s outrage is normalized. Looking at the recording through the bird’s-eye view, it was evident that there was a lot of energy flowing through the streets. The newscasters were keeping track of the fires, and warning people to stay away from specific areas. It is incredible to see the power that groups of people hold as many join together. The newscasters were asking if another reporter was attacked, and if people looked at him different because he was white. This video is eye-opening. Talking about the LA Uprisings is one thing, but looking at the big crowd, and seeing buildings getting caught on fire, it truly is shocking.
